I'm new to to this forum so forgive if this has been asked before but I was wondering if the ACR was like a ar15 with steel case ammo? Aimsurplus.com has Wolf ammo for $189.95 for 1000rnds and the local Wal-Mart has tula ammo for $4.97 a box, and I was wondering about the ejection problem that that guy on youtube had is it a common problem because the bushmaster rep told me it was not a common problem that it was a very small number of them and mine more than likely would not have that problem. I dont know if I trust them or not.

I have not used or seen anyone use steel cases ammo in an ACR. I have not seen any reports on the Inet good or bad really. I have to assume it will probably be a case by case basis if it works or not.

Bushmaster is in the middle of doing further testing to see if an additional Gas Regulator that would be marked with an H and L for high and low pressure ammo would be needed. I don't believe the steel case is an issue, but the pressure of the ammo would be. When I spoke to the project mgr. last week I couldn't get him to commit to anything specific on this topic other than to say its still being tested and they have not come to any conclusions. The test I was told would be completed in 30-45 days.

Here is a Youtube video that speak to a possible GR change (also it will sold as an Option, I'm told)... this video doesn't speak specifically to Wolf Ammo, but more to the ACR cycling various ammo. This a sticky topic since I believe that all ACR owners have their own experiences as to what works best in their ACR. It's just not all cut and dried. I'm personally more concern if it works with 5.56 pressured ammo. if the day comes where we have to shoot zombies 5.56 is what I'll be shooting them with. Until then shoot the Wolf and let us know. I would not go out an buy a 1000 rounds though, see what your ACR likes to eat first. Get some 5.56, America Eagle .223 experiment!

i keep rewatching that guys video on youtube. the one who got the tan acr an is haveing issues. i particually took notice when they were taking it apart that he didnt really have "wear marks" or where you would see wear on his bolt and bolt group. i dont have near as many rounds as he does through his and i even lube mine up and i got wear marks where wear marks should be found. on the bolt itself theres a ring that goes around it that prolly rides in the bould carrier and mine has wear on it and thats what i wouls expect. his doesnt.

I think this is why the XCR gas regulator is the ideal one. You can dial in whatever gas setting you need to fire almost any round.

The XCR's regulator is much better then the ACR's, more choices are always better. But the best IMHO, is the FAL's. Infinate adjustments within the range provided. Kinda surprised more folks haven't implemented it on semi-auto firearms. Maybe it's exspensive to make that way.

CJT50 you have an XCR right!?... I was on the fence between the XCR and the ACR. which one to do you like the best?

I spoke to the product mgr at BM and mentioned the XCR GR (which the various selections) he told me their was a better design with just two choices U and S... I'm starting to wonder now. I have to get some 5.56 through my ACR before I have a balanced opinion

No I don't. I have a SCAR and ACR. I would like to buy a XCR, but I'm not feeling a warm and fuzzy with the way the owner of Robarms presents himself. I have tryed in the past to give fledgling companies my business and have been burned.

I bought a Holloway Arms Hac-7 and the company went belly up and I ended up with a non fuctioning rifle. Same with Dornhouse & Dixon and the Bren 10 pistol. Again I ended up with a single shot pistol because the magazine never function correctly.

Robarms is more mature in it's design and function, and I really would like to buy one. Just very leary with the owners attitude towards his customers.

I think ACRfan, DSM and VB3 own XCR's IIRC.
