So which handguard do you prefer and why?

i like then enhanced for 10.5 barrels, the basic looks pretty good for 12.5's and up

for function the enhanced is more tactical ready, but the basic is more comfortable

Polymer. Keeps the lines smooth and simple, and doesn't require the addition of rail covers. As for short barrels, hopefully a short version is in the works.

+1. If they bring a short polymer version in the mix it would be a real winner.

I love my polymer because it follows closely the Masada concept- really like the feel almost FAL like!,the internal tracks for the MOE rail screws shows forethought on someones part! the current aluminum lacks detail to me -not enough cooling holes, was not relief cut for mil. spec. knights covers, no 1/4 x 20 mounting holes in the rails either just "blocky" looking! the newest rail handgaurd being shown looks much better IMHO and REALLY like the rounded mounting studs for faster on/off times, we will see....

I like the polymer as well. I found the enhanced handguard to bulky and just didn't feel good. The polymer one reminded me more of the MOE availible for the AR, which I really like. It feels better and has less bulky feeling to it.

+1, I hope to get a STD fore end in black, I just have not found one yet. I am not too happy with the Enh fore end but I LOVE the stock!

Polymer. It's light. It's gives the option of putting rails where you want them, and I hate having unused rails except for the top rail.

My enhanced didnt ship with any...I dont believe it comes with them. But it could use some. I probably would get any for the fact that I will more or less go with the Magpul AFG. They are 30 bucks...why not?
