When will Remington ACRs be available for sale?
According to reports on other fora, interviews with both BFI and Remington indicate that they will not be sold to the public in the forseeable future. Remington defense will concentrate on Military and Agency sales where BFI will be civilian and individual officer sales. I have not confirmed this personally, just what being said by folks that asked the questions at the shot show.

Never. Not happening.

From a business standpoint, it makes no sense to have brother companies cannibalize each other.

If ACR demand was insanely high, that might change things. Short of being adopted by a military agency, which would excite civilian demand, I don't see see a Remmy ACR going public.

I agree that a complete rifle from Remington wouldn't enter the civilian market, but what about just that specialized adaptive handguard. I'd love to see that for separate purchase.

remington said that the handguards will also stay with the remington version, same with the aluminum lower (which is some sort of magnesium alloy)

My take on the BFI vs. Remmy ACR question hinges around the fact that they are only the sum of their parts. The parts are all made by the same subs. Whose roll mark is applied in the end decides its level on the great ziggurat of coolness. ;)

But, let's not forget, Remmy's PSS rifles aren't for civilian sales either, are they? You can still get them all over the place. "Agency" sales also implies letterhead and individual LEO purchases. If they start releasing them they will eventually start making their way out into the market.

It's not really taking away from another manufacturer either. What it does accomplish though is keeping demand (read: price) high for the product.
