I had a remington 870 tactical which I traded for my acr. I loved the 18.5" barrel 6 shell magezine tube and it could use any remington 12 guage choke tube. It came with the sharpened door breaching muzzle break. Came with a picatinny rail and ghost ring sights too. Great shotgun I saw the atacs version at the store which was nice. And with a pistol grip stock and everything else was the same. Price only jumped up $75 or so. I am thinking its time to fill that void in my safe again and was leaning towards it but wanted to hear some other suggestions. Mossberg is comparable but I havnt seen one with a choke tube in the similar platform. The barrel does seem a bit heavier and I do like the thumb safety since I shoot lefty. That keltec is nice but I don't know if ny allows that many shells in a shotgun. Especially for a repeater.

I think im sold on the bayonet lug. They are nice I was looking at them. Has anyone seen both missy and remington apart? Are they similar? I remember my remington being a bit tricky to put back together. Is the missy 590a1 only use one size shell? Im mostly looking for a home defence shotgun but I can adapt it to hunting. The adaptive characteristics of the remington is appealing. Barrels stocks tubes all change easily. Plus that atacs is nice. Just want something different. But hey you can never have too many guns can you.

The one I'm NOT looking down the business end of?

In Azerbaijian we had some dipshit farmers take a shot (with their shotguns) at some dogs near us. I'm talking about these idiots 80m away, the dogs in between us at 20m or so. Those guys were a cunt hair from being shot.

Mossy's and Remi's come apart differently. Though I prefer Remi 870's the Mossy comes apart easier in my opinion. My favorite shotgun is my Benelli M1S90.

I haven't torn down my Mossy. I just clean her in one piece. She's pretty much a "just in case" gun that mainly hangs in a closet. The 590 will take either 2-3/4" or 3" (-1 from the tube). Benelli does make some nice looking shotties, but they're a little pricey...

I don't have a lot of experience with shotguns other than my issued rem 870 outfitted by scattergun technologies. It's a he'll of a shooter, though with tritium ghost ring sights, a 6 rd tube and loads of fun. We recently put an order in to outfit them with collapsible stocks and pistol grips (Impalas are a bit short on trunk space).

Can't say that I've shot them much, but I like the control scheme better on the Mossy.

I have a serious weakness for shotguns, but I'm a hunter. Browning A5, Remington 1100, Mossberg 500 are all in the safe. I let an 870 wingmaster go to a friend, and yes I miss it.

The next shotgun I'd like to have would be a Benelli M4 or God help me another "hunter" Vinci or Super Vinci.

So many great shotguns out there. The Kel-Tec ksg looks pretty sweet too.

I run my 870 into the ground.

Vang Comp Barrel (Fantastic!), Tritium Sights, Surefire Foregrip (Might change to a rail with VFG & Scout), Knoxx Stock and Side Saddle

My Benelli M2 usualy sits in the safe while this one accompanies the ACR and AR to the range

I love ,love, love my 870 Express magnum. in 20 yrs it has NEVER ftf. it field strips easy. hell once me & my hunting buddy both forgot the plug that only allows 3 rounds, thats mandatory for upland birds aka dove. he has an 870 Turkey gun we both just used a properly
trimmed stick, and they worked fine. I'm thinking about a kel-tec for home def.

My Favorite shotgun is my 20 year old, 12gauge Remmy 1100 with 20inch rifle sight barrel. Thing will clover leaf slugs at 50 yards, when I do my part. The gun has digested everything I have thrown in it from low brass target loads to flame thrower duplex stuff. Also have several different barrels for killin' skeets and an occasional duck :)

I went to my gun shop earlier and saw a few 870 tacticals which I had. Im going to get another. Thats just $550 less to put on my acr which is in need of optics. I have a serious crow problem here and can't get within 150 yards of them. They're destroying my crops and need to scare them off. Had a ruger 10/22 but the roj.ds ricochet too much. Just need a boomstick to send them flying.

I have that exact 870 you traded in. I LOVE IT. I can use it for practically anything I want, although some people at the skeet range give me dirty looks becuase of its "tactical/hostile" apperance. I've never had it malfunction on me what so ever. I slapped a vortex red dot on it. For the price you really cant go wrong with the 870, and something about a pump just makes me happy.

I should check into that. I don't know how expensive it is to bring someone in who handles that. These birds are smart. I can drive by them in a vehicle but as soon as they see a rifle they are gone. I need to set up a blind. I think. 17 hmr is my option because the bullets disintegrate when they hit anything. The shotgun is so loud it works but a half hour later the crows are back. I can't get close enough to hit them with a shotgun. All I need is one then I can hang it on the edge of the field. Want to keep he neighbors happy because they buy products from us. These crows do thousands of dollars im damage. Ammo is cheap but shotgun is he best bet. To many houses around. Plus that recoil is satisfying.

I like that muzzle break plus you can change it out. I put a skeet choke on mine. The ghost ring is a little tricky for it. I three my dote. On it and it helped. Plus being an 870 im sure the barrels are interchangable. Plus I like the finish. Though it did scratch off the barrel easily it looks good. Non reflective. Luckily they're a dime a dozen. I may go get another. Y
