mine isnt that sharp but it is getting this ring around the tip like its been hit too hard and metal is moving back
Not knowing anything about the properties of working with titanium, almost sounds like some of the firing pins are not heat treated properly.

i got losman's old firing pin and its pretty banged up, i fired it and it had a light primer strike so i went back to the factory steel one and it worked fine

the weight difference between the 2 are pretty significant though-although thats the only difference i noticed

Update 13 months 1500 rounds feed thru my ACR and I have gone thru 4 firing pins, i have shot factory, 5.56 and my own reloads. My reloads have no changed in the last 10 years and none of my other AR firing pins have shown such break up... it SUCKS
it's going back to BUSHMASTER again...second round

lets just hope they replace the whole bolt carrier assembly this time, and not just say they did

A BCG isn't going to fix it, the problem is the titanium pin. Titanium is not the right material for a pin, it will always break in an impact environment. The only thing that might make it live longer is if the firing pin hole on the bolt is nice and tight around the tip of the pin. I'm thinking about having my old titanium with the broken tip machined off and have a steel tip put in it.

My FP has 5040 rounds on it. Still functioning and looks almost new. I really think something else is going on with losman's rifle.

Really want to see how BFI handles this....
