Well, thanks for that, Chris. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Oh, and congratulations. You're the first time that I've seen anyone on this forum insult another [ball busting aside]. Welcome to the forum. Thanks so much for dragging us down.

And for what it's worth, I think that active military should receive the same treatment.

No, YOU dragged this place down when you infer that cops and military should receive "rights" that don't apply to the plebes.

You are not special, you are just like the rest of us, your life is not more precious, not more worthy of being protected.

I, you, everyone deserve the right to carry a weapon to defend ourselves from people who would wish to do us harm.

When you and the rest of law enforcement try to pass laws that grant your kind special "rights" expect the derision you richly deserve.

CCK, maybe it's because we receive training in building mental toughness, and not just firearms training. That's why I don't go around calling people pricks to pick a fight.

im with you tackleberry. If you have the training and made the sacrifices to receive that training, then why not have a few extra perks

Ok, This is why Tommy. Maybe it's best I write this weekend of all weekends.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men are created equal"

Not "citizens and soldiers", not "service guarantees citizenship", ALL MEN.

Or from the 14th Amendment
"nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

You are not better than I am in the eyes of the law. You do not deserve special privileges.

I would like to apologize...

to Pyle for writing the reply that caused this complete skew away from the posted topic.

Chris, no apologies here. As stated, my post was not to solicit any negative reaction or make any reaching statement that all non-LEO/military should go without personal protection. I agree with states' rights. I am an NRA member. I am proud to live in an open carry state. Frankly though, I think that concealed is the way to go. I would love to see a 50-state reciprocity for CCW provided that the requirements prevent crazy people and criminals from getting them. (Not calling anyone here crazy or a criminal)

Again, Pyle, sorry.

Well first, I haven't read the link posted as I am posting from my phone. But im assuming the link says something to the effect that service members receive some sort of a better ccw. And I don't see why not. As soon as I get home ill read the link. Now, I fully agree that every sane, law abiding citizen should be able to cc. Hell, im all for open cary. Ill update shortly.

Tommy, it basically is a listing for details on a Utah + Florida non-resident CCW with reciprocity in 36 states. It's a great deal and good info for anyone.

It was a good post by Pyle. That's why I apologized. I was off topic and the thread started running away on a tangent.

Ah. Thank you for the clarity. That's twice now on this forum someone has referred to service members as "that kind" or "you people" etc. I don't like it because at the end of the day, I am a combat veteran. I am a marine. I have done more for the people of this country and sacrificed more than most people will ever dream of. And I know there are a lot of current/former service members on here that have sacrificed the way I have. Regardless of whether I am right or wrong or the debate is heated, that kind of stuff needs to stay out of this forum. I don't generally pull the Vet card, but when someone wants to say something that takes away from our service, I will and I will get nasty in a heart beat. End rant. I will cease and desist, for now.

Tackleberry no worries I understood your post for the good natured
comment that it was, as for Tommy he's a jarhead, I know how jarheads are since my father IS one, and I'm very thick skinned.
For the life of me I have no idea why CCK,went from 0 to 150 in two sentences I can only guess its a misunderstanding.

I agree, but what Tackelberry was saying was he DOESN"T need a ccw because he is a lawman and NOT required to have a ccw, by law to carry in another state that recognizes, he's badge...am I correct Tackelberry?

There better be some civility restored here immediately.

Debate the topic, make a point and counter point. Conduct yourself like a gentleman.

There will be no personal attacks here. This is not XCRforum or ARFCOM.

Knock the shit off right now. Don't make me single you out.
