You know, there are a few other forums out there that are just not that fun to read anymore. Not naming them. But their threads get off topic way too often, then turn to personal conversations and then turn into cursing and shouting matches. With the other forums I tend to get stressed just reading people curse and just start bashing companies and other people. Here at ACRforum it's different. It has some class. It's clean and fun to read. I just wanted to just say thank you to everyone for making it as good as it is. I know you always want something to grow, but I hope it doesn't get so big it's hard to keep up with everything posted.

Again, thank you. :)

I just wish there was as big a community as the other forums I read. I am a MD shooter's forum and it seems like I'm one of the few ACR owners on there. I just commented on a ACR thread where most of the posts consisted of "too much money" while not knowing current prices, "shrubmaster, and i'll wait for the Remington version", and "SCAR is proven because SOCCOM". Its like I make the same comments over and over again without anybody bothering to read them while they continue to repeat the same stuff while they keep +1ing each other. I always try to be clear, concise, and present the facts but mostly get ignored or dismissed.

+1

Just kidding.

I agree. The conversations here seem meaningful. And when you post a comment, it's not bashed or thrown aside.

Well as the site owner and administrator, I will say this. My intention (as well as my moderators) is to ensure this forum remains a respectful place for people to get facts, and voice opinion. I will not tolerate shouting matches. I was on one of the big forums recently and came across a thread were a moderator or senior member chewed out a group of posters for simply mentioning a specific 4 letter company. Quite ridiculous in my opinion. I will not tolerate that from anyone. Be respectful and this community will be a great place. It is YOUR community. I can only do so much. The moderators can only do so much. Ultimately it is up to those on this forum to keep it a nice place to talk about our interests, etc.

I never really thought about it but there is probably a different type of person on this forum. To have bought the ACR you would have to been open to new technology/ideas, be willing to go against all the mainstream rhetoric and think for yourself, and it seems to me like people here have actual shooting experience. From what I have noticed you don't see people here with little to no rifle experience putting down $1650-2000 for their first unproven new toy. No matter how much other people might think it, most of us didn't buy this rifle because we use it on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

I think your right about one thing and thats that people hear are open to new tech. & ideas. just an FYI. the only rifles I own are bolt & lever actions. I don't own an AR, nor do I want one, antiquited system. I first saw the ACR while playing MW2. started to learn about it , when I found out that it was to be multi caliber I knew I had to have one. now its the firearm I take to range the most now.

Don't take me wrong, I learned about the ACR on Modern Warfare too. But I didn't get it solely based on gaming preferences, it was just a starting point. An actual post from the thread I commented on was "Just because it improves your K/D ratio on MW2, doesn't mean squat in the real world." I hate Black Ops though.

Same here. I never owned an AR. Handled a bunch of them from friends and family members. I mainly used to shoot bolt action rifles.

I first learned about the ACR from MW2 also. But I hopped on the SCAR bandwagon. Then I watched on future weapons about the Masada. Did research and went back full circle. Now I don't have anytime for games at all. The only thing we use the xbox for anymore is Netflix. Haven't even tried Black Ops yet. Last game I got was Medal of Honor.

Just got to thinking though...lol...we are getting slightly off topic. Oh well.

The ACRforum has been a great place to learn about firearms in general. The ACR was my first gun so I am new to this. Because the ACR is on the cutting edge, a lot of what gets discussed here involves insights into the whats and whys behind the engineering and into information that a novice would not think to include otherwise. Its been an education. Very newb friendly.

Am I the only one thats never played MW2? I'm a battlefield series guy, currently playing Bad Company 2. :)

I can't say that this is my 1st "Black" rifle. I bought my 1st AR15 back in 1982 and haven't stopped since. (I can't list all the rifles I have bought and sold) I find the ACR and other newer rifles a great breath of fresh air from the older crop of rifles. I think the ACR is a good progression and very well thought out design. This one will be in my collection for awhile!!

As far as off topic, naaaaa.....that's why we in "General Socializing" :)
