I recently orderd an AR15 sling adaptor and a blackhawk sling, only to find out the sling adapter wont fit on my barrel. I am a complete novice when it comes to what sling to get. I was wondering if someone could maybe give me a link to a good site or some advise on what to look for. Thank you!

Lots of options, depends on how you shoot and your requirements.

I personally went with a Gear Sector single point sling. It uses a fastener to attach the sling to a pre-attached stub on the rifle. The mount on the base of the stock where it mates with the upper and lower receiver is perfect.
