i should be getting my receiver for my 2nd acr tomorrow. since i cant do a form 1 on it thanks to my local leo screw up, i'm gonna have to go with a 16" setup for now. i am debating on an optic, this rifle will be a dmr/precision type build

my thoughts are either a ta31f or ta31h acog with larue mount or a leupold mark 4 illuminated optic, either the mr/t 2.5-8x36 or the lr/t 3.5-10x40, both with a larue mount

i know the leupold lr/t is alot of scope for a 16" gun but i intend on using it on my racs chassis remington 700 if it ever gets released

whats your opinions on these
btw after i get my form 1 back i'm thinking of this rifle from tos in omd's post, then maybe ill change my black one to the dmr

I voted for the Leupold 3.5x10 since you are planning to move it to the racs chassis later on. It's a hellava scope!

I like the idea of a DMR rifle having a variable power optic in the range of 3-10x40mm because it fits the round capabilities and intent of the rifle. An Acog type optic is more for mid range with the opportunity to take a long poke if the shooter is in a prime position to make that shot.

thats where i'm on the egde, i'm not sure what i will do with the dmr after the new long range setup, it probably will be form 1'd and switched to 300blk (hopefully remington releases their rails to the public)

the 36mm will stay on the acr reguardless, the 40mm might go to the .308 racs, if i get lucky enough to get more than one the 300winmag will be the 2nd choice, i just hope they dont rape me for the 1st one

last but not least the 36mm takes up less rail space, its about 11.3 inches while the 40mm takes up 13.5 inches, thats almost the entire rail on my rifle

btw i just received the upper today :)
