Go to Bushmaster's site and check out the new ACR page. I am really diggin the ATACS. Also a mention of 6.8 spc in the catalog (no more .308) and in the new specs. A special purposes carbine with a 14 inch barrel is now offered too. Man, I want that ATACS. 2011 Catalog is on as a pdf.

It looks like enhanced is going to basically be the optional tri-rail handguard with the Folder model being ntroduced.

Odd that the ATACS gun pictured has a Masada prototype handguard (has an area for the prototype's front sight to flip down into). Also odd that they don't offer it with a folding stock. Folding stocks are what probably 95% of potential ACR owners want.

Is the ORC gun only missing MBUS sights?

That appears to be it. The difference between the folding and enhanced is the handguard. Seems like they should really offer one rifle (Basic Config) and allow you order the rest ala carte.

And I am not sure if this is new or not but Bushmaster now has a modular accessory system section. Its new to me, I don't remember seeing it on there before. I could be wrong. I like the angled accessory mounts

Ah, the basic folder. If this had been the initial (and dare I say only) release it would have been just about on point. ATACS is sweet and I'm here to tell ya that a 14.5" barrel on the ACR is pretty nice as well. After Adco cut mine back it handles so much better.

I understand they are trying to be proactive on planning inventory and production but it's simple--have their ACR page with drop down menus for each mod, i.e. handguard, stock, MBUS or no, etc, etc. Pushing a product that is barely a compromise is a poorly veiled attempt at hooking the customer to come back to buy what they wanted in the first place.

A-TACS MOE (I refuse to say Basic), and a MOE Folder. Combine the two, and add just one actual caliber alternative, and I'd be sold. So close... (Maybe they'll come out with an A-TACS folding stock a la carte.)

I wonder if maybe they are a little hesitant to do an ATACS folder? One of the guys on barfcom that had his ACR hydrodipped in multicam was told that doing the core of the adjustable stock would scratch up the finish. They might be a little worried about a whiny customer's complaint going viral maybe?
