Hey all, I just got an ACR enhanced in black S/N BL029XX which is awesome and I am very excited about it. Unfortunately, it has to go straight back to bushmaster for the recall before I even got to shoot it. Story is the gun store called and inquired when the recall first posted and was told the gun was not affected but out of curiosity I put the S/N number in the web site and was told to call and subsequently to send it in. So my question for you all out there is there anything else I should ask them to replace or check while it is there to get updated so it wont have to go back? (like gas regulator or the barrel locking screw) Thanks for any help and I guess the two or three more weeks of waiting will let my aimpoint show up.

I would guess that they would bring your ACR up to current spec, but I can't say for sure. Some of the other guys might have better info on what all has been improved since your gun was produced.

I would request both of those. I'm not sure if there's anything else to mention.

I don't think the S/N check on their website is up to date. When I got mine it said to contact them right now, but after checking the firing pin with a magnet it was good. Even the rep I talked to at Bushmaster said it was good after telling him my findings.

Thanks for the advice once I get the shipping label and send it i will call them again and ask about the regulator and screw. Maybe put a note in the box too just in case.

I asked them to look at a couple of issues when I sent mine back last year.

They didn't, and they gave me a pair of those useless 10 rd mags instead of PMags. Those 10 rd mags get stuck in the rifle and I had to beat them out with a hammer. . . . . (Mag catch doesnt clear the top of the notch.)
From the sounds of things, their CS has gone down the crapper since then.

My gun is new with a very low serial number - I know I need to send it in, but there is no way I'm going to right now until they get their @$$es settled into the new location - until then I'm firing away regardless.

Just wait for someone to part theirs out and take the firing pin and spring, that's how I got around it, unless your rifle needs some other work

I was going to wait to send mine out but since it goes to illion which is the remington factory location I figure their move shouldn't effect the time it takes for repairs. Plus I can't risk it malfunctioning at my range. Full auto would bring me back to the good old days but someone would have an issue hearing automatic fire at the range . As far as if I get those little useless magezines at least they have nice anti tilt followers in them to use in a pre ban mag.

Agreed - I'm in no hurry, and it works fine for me as it sits right now, I will likely send it in one day - my serial number is 200 something - so very early release....
