Id say so. They fit like a glove. I got one modified to be state compliant. I love it. If im correct I think the acr was engineered to accept that better than anything. I've tried fitting other ones and they are either loose or don't drop free. I think all that is is just a play with a window.

Oh yeah. PMAGs are the best. New ones should be a problem, but some older ones needed a follower mod to allow the bolt to hold open after the last round.

My modified ten rounder has me wondering now. Is it all or just the window ones. Its pinned so I can't take it apart. Well the epoxy on the floor plate is the hard part. I just wanted a pmag. Buying a modified limited one was the only legal way I could have one.

I'm still anxiously waiting for Magpul to drop the 40 rounders they showed in last year's catalog. I'm guessing it may be a bit longer after the hi-cap mag discussions after the AZ Rep shooting. They would/will be so sweet though...

You need to purchace the correct PMAGs for your ACR. My legacy window mags would not lock the bolt to the rear on the last round fired. So I called Magpul. They told me that it was a known issue, so they redesigned the PMAG. If you buy dirrectly from Bushmaster, you are sure to get the new ones. However, if you choose to purchace elsewhere you can easily identify the new from the old. The new ones have a forrest green follower, the old ones have a grey follower. For those who don't know, the follower is the ramp that moves up and down in the mag. When I called Magpul they said they haven't updated the window mag yet, so buyer-be-ware. The good news is that the new mags will work in everything that takes an AR mag.

Original pmags have black followers, M revision have gray followers. M rev mags come in windowed and non windowed both and have for years. There are also emags these work with European pattern weapons like the HK 416, and emags also work with standard ar15s. The mags that come with the ACR are M revision pmags. Avnwo, I don't know where you collected your information but you may want to check the source.

There are some m revision mags that don't lock back on the last round with the ACR ( this may also be the case with the old pmags, but not my experience). This can be confirmed with Justin at magpul. I believe he also posted some info about this on arfcom under the magpul section, but you may have to search the archive.

I have about 10 of the M revised Pmags. None of them will allow the bolt to remain open after the last shot. I haven't used a single Pmag yet that would hold the bolt open, kinda irritating. Thanks for the link on the mag mod Tackleberry.
No problem. I was really pissed when I came back from my first range day with my new money pit. A night of research and carving with my pocket knife was all that it took.

I wanna see Coyote Brown windowed 40-rounders. Is Bushmaster ever going to add more accessories?

this was my experience as well. I recently bought 5 new pmags. 3 black and 2 OD green. they were produced in FEB 2011(black) and NOV 2009(green). They all had rev "M" (stamped on the top of the follower) gray followers. The ones from 2009 both had mag body stop channels(for lack of the proper term) on the followers that were about an 8th of an inch shorter than the black pmags made a little over a year later. Sure enough, there was about an 8th of an inch gap between the follower and the feed lips with an unloaded mag. I guess there were some changes to the rev "M" followers over that year that didn't warrant a new revision number. Wish now that i would have taken some pics. 2 minutes with a dremel and they are 100 percent now. The follower ALMOST touches the feel lips at the uppermost point. and they have no problem lifting the bolt catch high enough to engage the bolt.

my older gen 1 maglevel PMAGS had followers that went all the way to the top and i haven't had any issues with those at all.

thanks all and please continue to post questions, comments, and observations. The more people are turned onto this admittedly "teething pained" rifle, the sooner it's true potential can be realized.
