Well, got my new ACR, took it out to the range to sight it in. Have the rifle shooting .75"-1" groups at 100 yards with 3X9 scope and Silver Bear ammo. Very happy

But it seems that the Apertures of the small and large rear sighs of the MBUS are not concentric or line up vertically. Check the position on the rail and it was lock in well.

At 50 yards with the small aperture i am dead on with 1in groups of the bench but when i flip it to the larger aperture , it is all 5 inches lower and 4 inches to the right.

In closer examination of the sights you can see that they are not concentric, but this is pretty bad for sights provided with a rifle. I have emailed them about replacing with a standard A2 rear apertures, but got no answer via email from Magpul. I have broke down and purchased some Troy Micro sights to see how they are, need to get to the range this weekend to try them out, they arrived today.

Yeah, I haven't messed around much with the larger aperture, but I have been considering getting dome better irons just for the fact that the front sight post leaves something to be desired.

I've had good results with them once zeroed and pinned. It was funny to me how the BM manual said the front should be pretty close to zero from factory. I had to crank mine way down, almost bottoming out, before I could hit center. Not sure if others dealt with the same.

I'll probably invest in better backups after I save enough to get my red dot.

I never even tried zeroing mine, I went straight to an acog then to a t-1 with troys, my front mbus was almost lined up with the top of the sight

I had the MBUS on mine for about a half day. They're "OK" for a cheap sight but, to me, they're bulky and ugly on the ACR. ARMS also has a polymer sight set that seems a little more low profile but I've never seen them in person.

Troy micros are just about perfect for the ACR.

I feel the same way about them. They are for back up though. I wouldn't use them as an alternative for good iron sights. I would like a set with rear elevation adjustments as well as flip up capability. As far as the two different apertures I noticed the small one doesn't line up so well. The larger is partly for more rapid and close range target aquisition. There is better stuff out there. I would prefer my back ups to be as capable as standard iron sights. But these aren't bad.

does the ACR have a top rail higher than the standard M4?
Yes, by how much I do not know but the Troy micros are, in my humble opinion, the perfect height for the ACR. However, it limits you on optics/mounts if you want a decent cowitness.

I like the Magpuls for back ups. They are light and accurate enough at close range. I have them on three of four rifles now, each of which has primary optics that don't require batteries. So I would literally have to damage my primaries to need the MBUS anyway.

I plan to replace my MBUS sights with Troys in the future.
+1. I've been looking at their diamond shaped "DOA" rear sight.
