Been looking at this rifle for a while and just last night made up my mind to look into getting one. Been reading and watching vids all night.

Still searching around to find the best deal locally....if anyone knows anything in Arizona please let me know. So far I have found a basic black ACR for $1850+tax
Is there a price range I should try for?

I know there is a recall and have the serial number look-up page bookmarked on my phone to check the rifle I pick.
Is there anything else I need to look for? Seen barrel twist mentioned a couple of times.

Thought I read that a new basic rifle had some changes to it...any truth to this?

Plan on picking up the rifle and an Aimpoint Micro T1/H1 for starters.

Thanks

I paid $1900 for mine last summer so that's not a bad deal in my book. You might be able to find a slightly better one online but you'd have to factor in transfer and shipping fees.

Barrel twist is still 1:9 save for the handful of folks that have custom barreled their rifles in whatever they have. I don't want to open up the 1:9 vs 1:X twist debate (it's a smelly can of worms to be certain) but 1:9 works fine for about 90% of the ammo out there (and by that I mean below 75gr slugs). If you feel that's a concern then get the rifle and shoot the hell out of it while you wait for the other barrels to catch up. It'll give you a "beater" barrel to use at the range so you don't burn out your choice rig.

I'd ask the dealer if the rifle has been back to BM for the recall. If they are a good dealer they'd have saved the work order slip with the manual but that's the world according to me. You can give BM a call to look it up as well.

The Aimpoint Micro sights are great. Put one in a LaRue HK height mount paired with a set of Troy micro sights and you get the combo to beat.

Got mine for $1700 + tax. Check Jetguns.com. Actually my local gun shop matched the price. Good luck on the purchase!

I think I have seen some on Gunbroker for $1650 with the buy it now option but at the moment the lowest I see is $1730. Prices seemed to risen a little since I last looked. With shipping and FFL it would be around $1800, I would keep on eye on gunbroker.

I was on the fence for a while too. I decided too handle one for myself at a local shop and fell in love with it. I got them to match an online price of $1780 and picked it up on the spot. I checked the barrel alignment before purchase and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I've fired 200 rounds of Black Hills brass so far without a single issue, and sighting it in was painless. Very accurate. Love it

Thanks for the replies. I ended up paying $300 more and getting one of the only Black enhanced versions I could find locally.
Brought it home with the Aimpoint Micro, LaRue tall mount QD and a Magpul RVG.
I have some American Eagle .556 I plan to run through it soon.

I check the Bushmaster s/n and it said to call them....too late tonight, do it in the morning.
I don't have any doc's saying it was sent to Bushmaster, but I did tear it down to do the magnet test and the firing pin didn't stick.
Still calling in the morning though.

Thanks again.
