Called BM on monday to get the status of my parts for my ACR and asked them when they thought the Caliber kit would be available. The customer service gentleman was very confident and said that the 6.8 SPC II would be out in August and 7.62X39 would be out in September. Ask about 5.56 18" barrels and he didnt know.

Is anyone doing the 300 BLK barrel for the ACR? just a drop in barrel with all the piston and parts?

I would hope that BFI, Remington or AAC would release a 300BLK system for the ACR since they all part of freedom group. But from the looks of things lately, I don't think they communicate much :(

Really? That would be great if they released the 7.62 in Sept. Last I check they told me early 2012!

my guess is bushmaster will probably not jump on the 300blk bandwagon for some time, hell they havnt even released any new parts aside from the basic and enhanced stuff-not to mention spare parts

the move from maine came at a really bad time, especially since it slowed production for the new calibers and barrels which is a deciding factor for alot of users wanting more than just a 16.5" .223/5.56

I received an answer from delta today, a stripped 300 blackout barrel is 250.00 dollars. they can't say how much a drop in barrel will be yet. the largest problem is figuring out how to manufacter them without being sued by bushmaster.

The gas system is probably proprietary huh? Hopefully Bushmaster would be willing to license barrel kits, at least in calibers they're not interested in and get a piece of the action for nothing. It should be in their interests to have an aftermarket so people want to buy the weapons. Ideally, Bushmaster would make an adapter for use with standard AR barrels... and just sell the gas system letting people use whatever AR barrel they want.

Acually I was told "because the only thing holding us back from production is finding someone to make the locking collar with the interrupted threads, and doing so in a way that keeps us from getting sued by bushmaster. Once we figure that out, Ill be able to get an exact retail cost." thats the exact quote.

its not that hard to use a standard ar barrel now, but if they could do it without modifying the barrel would be nice, the problem i would foresee is the gas port size, if its a fixed size for the gas block then it wouldnt work on all barrels, it would have to be adjustable like my system

i wonder what the patent is actually on, i know the hk416 was the gas piston rings, without the rings (titan defense) was a different system and made it alot harder for hk to sue them
