PICS: Outdoor Range this time, with .223 and 5.56mm at 50/100 yrds

Well, after i did the "mini" zero at the indoor, i decided to test out the laser boresighters... what a mistake that was. I spent out 30 rounds re-zeroing . It's not 100% zero'ed as i ran out of ammo, plus I started just enjoying it and shooting it without 100% concentration and holding it still.

Other thoughts, I used a cheapo bipod which isn't optimal, the barrel end still moved a little despite holding my breath. Next time, I'm going to grab some bean bags and a block or something.

As for the accuracy, I was more accurate with the .223 American eagle at 100yrds as opposed to .223 at 50yrds, and the exact opposite with the 5.56. User error probably.

Anyways, I had fun! Enjoy these pics.

Couldn't see the video cuz I'm at work, but the pictures are great, thanks for sharing your observations.

ETA: Now that I'm home looking at the post, I don't see a video. At work there was a black space on the top box.Maybe I'm just losing my mind. :tinhat:

Protip: If you cover the fiber optic on the top with some tape you'll get a much sharper chevron. If you need more light, just peel back the tape to expose the fiber optic until you reach your desired level of illumination.

What laser boresighter did you use? I have a. 223 one that goes in the chamber. Works awsome then I wasted the money on one that goes in the muzzle of my. 308 what a mistake. Wasted a few to many on that one of premium ammo. Think its mostly for putting you on paper. Nice shooting by the way. Try keeping your mags in the shade. More noticable with the match load. But if youre checking accuracy then the heat of the sun can change the pressure a tiny bit. I know im guilty of treating an ar like a benchrest rifle. Also get a caldwell shooting rest of your choice. You have good accuracy for a wobbly setup. And nice acog. Gonna be about half a months pay but I may treat myself since I go away next month. Can't use nearly the whole amount and get the piggyback red dot tho.

i used this thing here... http://www.amazon.com/SightMark-Las...I982/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1309629391&sr=8-2

it too, is an "in the chamber" type.

as for the tape recommendation, i'll give it a shot. that last pic with the cheveron does look a tad blurry, but via eyes and not camera it was a better focus.
