After a little research the handguards appear to actually be an older design, wierd they would put them on during 2011 shot show. Well they were new to me anyway.

It is Remington's version that is military only at this point and not for sale to average joe's like us. I'm sure over time you'll see a few slip out, maybe Remington will actual let BFI sell'em.

If I was a manufacturer, I would open it up to anyone who wanted to buy it. You are more likely to get civilian sales than you would be Military sales.
