I just bought a new labtop case and it occurred to me that it could also be a novel way to transport my handgun without drawing the attention the bright blue Sig case does. It hasn't come in yet but I was working on my netbook and just happened to put it directly on top of my handgun case and realized they match up pretty well on size. I could easily pull out the precut foam in the gun case and drop it in the labtop case. So you get a better idea of what I'm talking about take a look at the case.

Turns out the foam from my sig case is like a cm too long so it didn't work out. One day I may get bored and mess around with it, I like unique stuff.

Have you thought about just taking some foam and outlining a new piece? That way you don't have to lose the foam in your other case. Many case manufactorers/ distributors out there offer replacement foam for sale. You can also go down to your local hardware store and pick up some foam liner, if it's thin enough it may work for you.
