My wife wants an ACR now and her only complaint is the weight. I plan on having the barrel put on a diet and cut down to 14.5 with a p/a flash hider/suppressor mount. All the ounces will count for her.

ETA: Mine will most likely end up at 11 lbs or so.

That's awesome that you and your wife both have that interest in firearms. ADCO does barrel cutting, profiling, etc. You should look into their work for your ACR Diet plan.

I'm at about 10.5 empty, those Acog/Docters optics add weight but I think it's worth it.

I weighed both of mine awhile back and the difference was negligible. An ounce or two like bigdog said.

I checked mine with a food scale (on a diet) the difference was the basic with one rail on the bottom was 0.2 ounces lighter. I think with a second for the light difference would be very close if not same.

On the other side, I do prefer the Basic over the Enhanced for comfort, but I only have 40 rds through it. ACOG and offset iron sights by the end of next week. Then just a surefire scout, Laser, and night vision..... Oh, if I had money!
