So I was doing some searching, and I found this website, www.iammo.com . They have a TON of green tip 5.56, or at least they did when i first placed my order. Since I ordered 2 cases of 1000 rounds, I got a phone call from them, confirming who I was (for fraud, I assume). After a brief discussion, they told me this stuff was going fast, so I did what I thought was best and decided to come here to post my findings:

http://tinyurl.com/mwl3v3g - 1000 rounds

http://tinyurl.com/jwq8xgr - 100 rounds

http://tinyurl.com/lcfb6vw - 30 rounds

The cartridges come on 10 round stripper clips, and the cans come with speed loaders. I haven't found prices any lower than these. Get it while you can, seriously, this stuff shoots wonderfully.

Cheap? That's $13 a box. I haven't purchased any ammo since any if this craziness started. If a seller has a limit of any kind I will not purchase from them. I refuse to pay $10 for a box of .223. The last I bought was $7 and I thought that was high.

I figured it was an ad however I looked at the site and saw that it was a legit site, so I let it through, just incase anyone wanted to pay 65 cent a round. its about the going price right now. its come down 15-30 cent a round in the last month. you can find wolf and tula for cheaper, like 40-55 cent a round, but thats WAY too high for me. I was used to buying wolf at 22-25 cent a round. I'm waiting for pmc to come back down to 30-35 cent a round and stay there, and I'll be happy. even less would be better.

We HAVE to set limits on purchase amounts if we want to try and let everyone have a chance at getting some ammo. Otherwise, one guy would buy it all up, leaving nothing for others. Every day we get someone saying "What? Why am I only allowed 4 boxes of 5.56?" My reply.. "If we had no limit, you would be looking at an empty shelf from the 10 guys before you, and you wouldn't have ANY ammo to get!" We regularly have people saying "I'll take it all", to which we reply "Uh no, you won't."

As far as pricing, I haven't seen DEALER prices anywhere near $7 a box in MONTHS for .223 ammo. Even dealer pricing at SHOT show, and other vendor only shows, was higher than that amount. Prices in the .50 to .65 a round is going to be the norm for quite some time, sadly.

If the speed at which it's coming down now is an indicator it shouldn't be that long before PMC XM193 is at 40ish cents a round, I see it at around $12 a box at my LGS lately. I'm already seeing cases of 500 rnds of silver bear in stock everywhere for under 200 bucks. I also picked up a 420 rnd can of 855 for 175 bucks.

A couple weeks ago I had AE .223 55 Gr boxes of 20 for $11.99, and PMC X-Tact 5.56 boxes of 20 for $12.99

I had 5,000 rounds of each, and even at a 4 box daily limit, I ran out in 2 days.

It was a beautiful site, while it lasted... LOL

I saw that it was his first post.

Powershift,
Five boxes of ammo that's priced twice the normal price doesn't do jack for me. A local dealer that I have purchased firearms from, had cases of 9mm sitting on the floor. I mentioned before the craziness that I wanted a case. He said no problem. A week later and he wouldn't sell it to me. I'm standing there with cash! I didn't want all of it. I just wanted a case. That's unacceptable. What changed? Some people freaked out! I understand why it's being done but I chose not to be involved. I sleep better at night. At .50 to .65 they can keep it or sell to the next sucker! The local dealer? I haven't been back and won't go back!

I was a dealer for 13 years and I'm disgusted by what I'm seeing!

Trust me, I know what you are saying about some dealers taking advantage. It makes me sick too, as I'm not just a shop owner, I'm also a gun enthusiast myself. I was simply explaining why limits are sometimes a necessary evil, for the greater good of making ammo available to more than just one guy.

I understand it. Unfortunately, greed rules America and as you said, one guy will just buy it all up. It makes me sick! I wasn't jumping on you about it. I've been where you're at. In the end, I got tired of all the hassles with no reward and gave it all up. Never looked back. My hat is off to anyone that can make money selling guns. Of course, those were very different times. I suppose, the reason that I haven't purchased a suppressor yet, is all the crap that I went through. No desire to revisit any of that!

Oh, by the way! I'm watching 3 boxes of Israeli M855 selling on Gunbroker for $73. Why anyone would bid that much for 90 rounds is beyond me. I guess it's true! There is one born every minute!

So it looks like an add, I just wanted to post a good deal I found. Where I live this really is the cheapest I can get, any range or local store around me has prices jacked up to nearly 80 cents a round.

How about the INSANE prices some people are paying for 22 LR! OMFG.... I've heard countless stories of 22 LR bricks selling for WELL over $100. Anyone willing to pay that price is a moron. They are simply feeding the Vultures praying on the shortage. And, I'd be willing to bet the morons buying that stuff aren't even shooting it! It's just taking up room in their safe.
