Get your choice of an AAC can and a 51t mount. they have a flash hider, muzzle brake, and a "brakeout" which is both a brake and a flash hider combined, but obviously it compromises both to meet in the middle.

I personally got a 7.62sd-n6 for my first can, so I can use it for everything .308 and under. I plan to add dedicated 5.56 cans later.

Decide on your can make and model first then choose what mount to use with that can....

There are 3 choices IMO..... AAC SDN-6 can with either flash hider, muzzle brake, or a brakeout. :)

You can use the 308 can with any 556 rifle with AAC mount with no problems, and still allow you to use the can for 308 rifle.... best of both worlds. Can't go the other way.
You gain flexibility and lose a bit on the suppression noise dampening (@ +3db difference of that of a dedicated 556 can), barely noticable from the shooter and almost no weight difference compared to a dedicated 556 can.
