Extractor failure has un known cause. Probably out of spec bolt or spring problems. The bolt catch issue turned out to be the p mags I purchased with the gun. The follower wouldn't quite reach the top of the mag. I took a small drill bit and deepened the slot at the front of the follower to allow it to seat at the top of the external case of my p mags. This allowed the bolt catch to rise a 1/16" higher thus catching when a mag is spent. Had to do like 10 or 11 p mags. Including the stocker.

The zeroing difficulties are unknown. I must say while i used every asset in my power to keep the gun still, I just can't help being human. I strapped her down in a bag on the bed of a truck( not moving). I was moving the sights like mad. I had two spotters, shooting bud and sexy red head. When I seemed to get close, I would have 3 or5 random placements. This is 25yds

Then I cowhitnessed the eotech. Started a Coasta style drill with several 20to 30yd silloetts. Acuracy was poor. Typically with my m4 and the eotech, I can't miss. It seem every man woman and child that shot the m4 a3 with eotech couldn't miss.

Any way Andy from Bush called because I sent the rep some spurring emails, and they want to go through the entire gun. Said the turn around would be 3-4 days. I hope he is right. He was friendly and helpful. Even stroked my ego by saying I sounded like I knew what I was talking about. Probably in the hand book for damage control.

I'll post results and time frame when available.

Hopefully BFI will get it squared away for ya.

On the PMAG issue, I heard they changed the mag body to keep the follower from hitting the feed lips. Sounds like that is what you encountered. I havent run across any of these yet, but I will try your fix if I do.

On the zeroing issue.

What type of ammo were you using? Did you try more than one type? What was the bullet weight?

I can tell you that with 55gr everything was fine, but heavier bullets performed poorly in my ACR. Bushmaster fixed my problem with slamfires, I am sure they will take care of you.

Xm 556 55 grain. Pretty good ammo. Not top but not Russian steel.

I still love the gun. Thats just part of being part of something new. When yamaha introduced the first liquid coolled fourstroke race motor in 98' I wanted one bad. They had all sorts of problems. I bought one in 99' and it worked perfect. At least in the gun world they don't say tough shit.

I certain in a couple of weeks I'll have my new favorite gun back n perfect working order.

As for the p mags. Its the green followers that are questionable. The black seem fine.

Snow just hit here in the mountains of north east Washington. Time for snowshoe shooting and snow cammo.

Ahhhh yes the west side. Tonight in lake Wenatchee we have no power do to extreme winds rain thunder and lightening I have to rely on other guns because the acr is in the shop. I think that I may desire a tactical light when it comes back. It seems that when I'm truly concerned enough to charge my weapon remove the safety and ready to kill, it's dark out. And I'm naked.( Perhaps the reason for my sense of vaunuralbility). Holding a flashlight and 45 is fine and all, but it wouldn't take much going wrong to cause you to drop one or the other, or point them opposite directions. If it is all sitting comfortably on the acr, I'm likely to be more confident and less likely to shoot my neighbor trying to get dry firewood because the power is out and his two babies and wife are getting cold.

What acr do you have?

LOL... too funny. A bit scary though that you're sitting there nekkid... and maybe worse that you're willing to admit it. :p

I'm still waiting for my ACR to get back to me from BM but I grabbed the Coyote Tan Enhanced version. Only fired it once before I sent it back for the recall... about 150 rounds. What a great feeling though. When I get it back I need to get it zero'd in. I have a Grip Pod on order (should be here before my rifle gets back) but I'm thinking about trying out an angle grip. Those seem pretty egonomic. I also need to start figuring out what I want to run for glass. Can't decide between an Aimpoint M3 red dot... reflex... holo... ugh... so many choices!

Sorry I took so long to respond. All issues fixed by bushy also 4 free p mags for my trouble. I put 500 ends through my acr without cleaning and no issues. I'm very happy. I zeroed at 50 yds and I'm able to center at 100 yds with 1.25" groupings. I'm very happy. now I'm thinking of a suppressor for the acr. Any suggestions.

Another +1 for BFI handling the ACR teething pains. Glad to hear the positive outcome. As far as what suppressor to suggest, can't help, I don't know anything about them other then they are pricey

I'd suggest the Advanced Armament Corp 7.62-SDN-6. It's the can that can! 7.62x39, .300 blackout, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 spc, and 5.56! It is your one stop shop for the ACR! Can you tell I'm excited? That's what I've been saving for.
