About to bite the bullet here and choose between one or the other. Never had the opportunity to use either.

Looked through an EXPS 2-0 on a dummy rifle at a vendor's table. Very easy to look through but is just so big.

Looked through the T-1 unmounted. Hard to find dot at first but but that could have been the fact it was unmounted. Loved how small it was.

EXPS 2-0 with some cheap extras is ~$519

T-1 with LaRue mount is $645

Would love some opinions. Is the T-1 worth the extra $120+? I've never had either brand but I know people can be quite opinionated about them.

I also plan to keep the MBUS for now but upgrade to Troys later on. Not sure about Micro or Standard at this point.

Thanks

the aimpoint will win on weight and mounting options the eotech has a better reticle imo, are you going to run night vision? if not theres no real reason to go with a t-1 over a h-1

I have the H1 on my ACR and if I had to do it again I would get the Eotech, especially the EXPS 2-0.

I have a Eotech 522 on my AR-15 and I just like the 65MOA circle and 1MOA center dot better then the 4MOA dot the Aimpoint has.
The Eotechs reticles just seem alot more clearer then the Aimpoint Micros.

Been thinking about getting a Eotech EXPS 2-0, but I don't want to give up the H1 after paying $450 for it and buying 2 mounts at $90 each.

My experience with EOTechs was with a 553 a couple years back. It was OK and was summarily traded off not long after. I know the EXPS is smaller, mostly in length, but I still can't get over the bulk on top of the rifle. I'm not a fan of the CR123 batteries either. The reticle I didn't find anything special. Sure the dot is 1MOA and is great for precision but that's not necessarily what reflex sights are about, hence the 65MOA ring around it to draw your eye in. (And as far as numbers go, forget about them. Yes really, forget about them. Everyone's eyes are different, try them out and see which one works best for you.)

It's no secret I champion the T1 sights. They're small, rugged, use cheap batteries that last darn near forever and did I mention small? The dot size hasn't been a hindrance in hitting steel at 300yds on our range. On the ACR a set of Troy micros and a LaRue HK height T1 mount is a great set up.

does anyone find the small window size of the aimpoints to cause them tunnel vision or make it harder to quickly acquire the target? I agree the eotechs are heavy and bulky, but i find myself snapping in on the target pretty quick with it

i came from eotech to a t-1, it was hard to get the dot at first but now i dont have any issues, i also like the small footprint of the t-1 especially since i run it with nod's

i'm faster with a t-1 than my old ta31f, but i can hold a very tight group with an acog, so i guess its a trade off, the tube is pretty small but weighs about 1/3rd the weight of the acog

the weight thing doesn't really bother me. I'm used to having acogs, peq16's, grip pods, etc. i guess if i had all of that on a FAL, sure, the weight would become an issue, but not when a weapon weighs 5-8 pounds.

Agreed, I hold great groups with the acog. i really want a marine spec acog with the chevron reticle and the rmr mounted on top, but that costs almost as much as my acr.
