I was reading somewhere that if you ran this setup, the EOtech sits too far forward because of the magnifier, thus hitting the charging handle. Is this true? Anyone have any experience with this?

FYI, I don't have an ACR yet. This is just the setup I was wanting to run once/if I picked one up.

Thanks for the confirmation. I remember watching a video of an ACR owner showing off his Aimpoint. He states in the video that an EOtech/Magnifier combo hits the charging handle, which is why he went with the Aimpoint

I measured it and an Eotech + magnification fits fine but there is not room for the MBUS. I would not exacly mind having an Aimpoint either, they are both really nice.

Hmm... Well from this little comparison, it looks as if the Troys are a tad bit shorter. Do you think it is enough to make room for the rear BUIS when running the Troys?

Well, I posted a link to a comparison between the Troy Micros and the MBUS, but a mod has to approve the post first. The Micros look a tad bit shorter, maybe you can google the comparison or wait til my post gets approval and let me know what you think

I think you could mount them but it would seem pointless because you could not co-witness with them. To use them you would have to take your other stuff off.

I read on an XCR forum that troy micros give a lower 1/3 co-witness with the 557. Maybe that chart was wrong?

What is the best way to tell if a certain red dot/buis setup will co-witness or not?

They probably do, I just think that there isn't enough room for the 557, Magnification and iron sights. Maybe for the ESPS 3 and magnification. But to be honest I am not sure either way. If someone else here is more sure chime in.

I put it right in the middle of the charging handles line of travel just to check and it does not hit at all on mine. It rides just below.

So let me make sure I'm understanding you right. When the 557 is in the middle of the charging handle path, it clears, but when it is closer to the rear of the rifle it will hit? Or were you mistaken earlier when you said that it will hit?

Sorry for so many questions. I do not have an ACR yet, or these optics. I just would really like to run these optics and if I'm going to run into problems I would like to know ahead of time

I never said it would hit. It won't hit no matter where you put it. I have mine (557) over the magwell because I am comfortable sighting through it with it there. The charging handle is below the top rail, there is nothing on the eotech, or magnification should you have one, that goes below the rail so it is impossible for it to "hit" anything. Operating the charging handle might be a more tricky but thats it.

Oh, when you said there wouldn't be any room for the MBUS I assumed you were talking about it hitting the charging handle if placed far enough forward so you could mount the rear sight. Sorry for the confusion in all of this.
