...i was just reading all the various problems people were having with their acr's...man, it makes you wonder...well the the lemon factor, with leaning barrels and gas regulators i can handle, but the barrel wrench...come [email protected] i wouldn't mind if BM added another pound to make the thing rock solid...maybe i'll have to change my preference for the polymer lower to the aluminum one...looks like a lot of people are having troubles with the lower area: mag release, bottle opener, etc...
...but still a main feature like the "adaptive" barrel lever, the barrel locking ring, and the main controls should be made to hold up to some abuse...not a big deal for going to the range...but for self defense, possible military, and law enforcement, any one of those could cost a life...do you guys know if the xcr, scar, or lwrc have had similar issues?...

I believe that BM said some of the earlier barrel wrenches were improperly heat treated. Mine is in the 3800 range, everything on mine seems squared away. I have not seen reports of later ACRs with these problems; hopefully BM got the "bugs" worked out.

Everything new is going to have problems. The SCAR's problems were worked out with Uncle Sam's help. The XCR has been around 5+ years and has it's share. LWRC is based on a 50 year design. I visit the FN and XCR forums alot and each has it's examples of issues. Problem is you only hear the bad stuff.

Yeah, it can be frustrating. You have to go into it knowing that it's something new without the benefit of a couple decades of refinements and manufacturing experience. It doesn't bother me as much though I can definitely see where people would be put off in spending a couple grand on a crap shoot.

i guess with a little time just like the AR if you want to upgrade or add tougher accessories you would be able to...i think the BCM charging handle is a good example of that...i now have contempt for most manufactures and a great respect for ole Kalashnikov...
...i want to see what happens with the kel-tec shotgun as a case study...hahahaa...i imagine with all those parts and switches there is bound to be some complications if its anything like all the others...if it is, i will forever bite my tongue...if it's not...well....
