Hey guys.

I remember one of Magpul's changes to the ACR's charging handle besides moving it forward to the barrel was the fact that it was also ambidextrious, like the other controls. Yet the most recent iteration of the rifle has the charging handle only on the left side.

I was just curious why they would change this unique feature? I don't remember seeing it on any other firearm and I cannot think of any real disadvantage. Was there a drawback to the charging handle being on both sides?

I am not 100% sure on this, but isnt it still ambi? The only thing they chaned is that it now comes with the handle pre-installed on the left, but you can unscrew it and put it on the right also.

I believe OTO27 is correct.

You can purchase an optional second cocking handle/knob to have the ACR ambi.

Probably didn't put two on to save money and for most shooters, it was not that big a deal.

Just play Modern Warfare 2 and and select the ACR. It has ambi charging handle.

I couldn't find much info concerning minor things like the charging handle so I was not sure. I saw a magpul demo with the handle on both sides and was just wondering if they changed it or not.
