Hi, all

I've been the owner of a new ACR for a week now (I haven't even shot it, yet), and the barrel locking lever simply broke off as I was installing the barrel after its initial cleaning.

I contacted Bushmaster CS and they said to send the rifle back for service, and that it would take three weeks for it to be returned to me! This is for a part that is simply held in with a screw. No, they would not send me a new lever and the part is not available retail.

Is there any other way of getting this part? I don't want to part with a rifle that I haven't even fired yet for three weeks.

I hadn't fired mine and had to send it back for the recall. Now its coming up on 3 weeks tomorrow and I have to leave for a month for training so I wont get to use it. If its the screw for the lever that broke its an allen head I think. I dont think its metric but i dobb know for sure give it a try. Just make sure the threads are the same.

If it's just the screw. You can do fine at the hardware store with a new screw an some blue loctite. Mine was loosening after every trip, so I made the switch and loved it. I also got to choose a Phillis head, which looks like hell, but it's easier to tighten.
