I know how you feel, I have always been against it's use as well. But recently I have heard good reports on silver bear ammo. It uses a different coating on the case then traditional russian ammo and seems to have a wee bit more ommpphh as well. Price of brass stuff is cramping my shooting style.I had a bad experience with steel cased ammo and I'm not running it through any of my weapons again unless its a SHTF situation
Thats good to hear, my 1st 500 showed up today and hoping to run some at the range tomorrow.I've been using Silver Bear for a couple years now (62 gr hollows). For my M6A2, PLR-16 and now my ACR, the performance matches XM193 - plenty of oomph and flawless perfomance. I verified the casings on the SB I shot yesterday. No signs of extractor wear on them at all. In my exprience, SB is every bit the round the surplus US stuff is.
Care to buy some brass off of me?I get pretty good results with the bulk ammo I load.![]()
I've got buckets and buckets since I buy bulk surplus stuff. But, if you're going to make a deal too good to pass on then I'm always interested in such things.Care to buy some brass off of me?
Keeping you posted.....Keep me posted. If it runs through your ACR well with no stove pipes then I'll consider it for plinking. I can deal with double feeds and the such. Its not going to hurt the rifle. Stove pipe is a different story, especially when dealing with steel casings
