So I just got my ACR and shot a full mag (quite gleefully) without a problem. I then handed it to a friend to fire it, and after a few rounds the battery holder in the grip fell out. I put it back in but it happened again after a few more rounds. Is this happening to anyone else's ACR?

I have one idea as to why it happened with my friend and not me: I'm a bit bigger than him so I may absorb a bit more recoil, thus lowering the amount of "jerk" that allows the battery holder to fall out. NEVERTHELESS this shouldn't happen.

Now I know this is not a make it/break it deal for this superb gun, but it's a little disappointing.

Mine is pretty loose too and anticipate the same problem. Another member had the issue and I think he said he used a lighter to heat the tab to make it grip more. We talked about it in the bolt and firing pin holder thread I think.

That was me. Mine used to fall out frequently while shooting. Just heat the tab with a lighter/heat gun/etc and bend the locking tab out a bit and let it cool. That should give it the extra tension it needs. Mine hasn't fallen out since the fix.

I had given up. I was having that problem too. I tried just wedging it out over night, but it didn't work. So I've been going without it but I never thought to try melting and extending it. I'll have to give that a try.

Yep thanks darwin for the tip. Im holding off on trying it because im boxing my rifle up as I type this to go down the road to the rem. factory for the recall. Ill put a note in for them to look at it. If the fix it great if not ill try heating it. I wonder if the other magpul ones stay in better. Some people didn't have a problem at all. Its a great feature but not something I want falling out. Especially if it were to happen to the guys that have them on a mission or just out in general where it could get lost. Losing a battery is one thing but if ya had the bolt and pin holder that would really suck to lose.

i noticed mine was very loose as well.. it hasnt gotten to falling out yet, but its definitely looser than it should be. I may try the heating method to remedy the problem.
