So question for you guys who have had your ACR's longer than I; When cleaning your rifle do you usually take off the barrel or leave it attached to the reciever? I've heard from a few owners that they leave theirs on so they dont have to worry about re-zeroing. Another thought that crosses my mind is each time you take it off and put it back on i'm sure it causes wear right? Has anyone had any problems from consistently removing their barrel?

When I 1st got my rifle, I removed my barrel after every range session, (usually 300 rounds) Once I hit 1000 rounds I didn't remove my barrel until the 2000 round mark. At 3000 rounds I removed it again. I think I'm going to continue with the removal at every 1000 round mark, unless It really gets muddy / dirty and then I may remove it sooner. I don't think you will excellerate any wear removing the barrel more often.

As far as maintaining zero after removal, I have a witness mark that I use to line up after I reinstall and tighten the barrel. When using that mark, my zero is usually within a click or two.

I have removed my barrel after each range session for cleaning. And mine has been like cjt50's, when I return to the range, my EOtech is within a click or two of the zero mark. I will probably remove it less in the future though, since I noticed it hardly gets dirty after a few hundred rounds.
