I had noticed that my barrels "wrench" handle was starting to get loose and tapping against the inside of the tri-rail fore grip.

So I grabbed a hex set and tightened it. It came loose again and this time when trying to tighten it, the screw head started to strip so I can't tighten it but I can probably remove it.

Anyone have a problem like this? and should I call BM and get a new screw or is it something I can get at a hardware store?

I ask because if I take the screw out, I'll not get it back in, so if I take it out and go to the hardware store, then can't find a replacement my ACR is boned.

Hoping to find out how some others dealt with it.

Mine had the same issue, but I was able to identify it early and they replaced the screw during the recall. Give'em a call, they might send you one under warranty.

It loosens up on mine too. I just wrench it back down. Eventually when I stop being lazy I'll put some loctite on it.

I would take it to a hardware store and find the replacement screw. Also get some blue locktite while you're at it. That way you wont have to worry about it again and not need to wait on BM.

I called BM. The guy I spoke to said to not try and fix it at a hardware store, something about "spacers"

Anyway I'm going to have to send my barrel back and maybe the upper as well, I'll have to see what they want when the box gets here.

Mine has a torx bolt but it has to have the recall. Don't know if they changed from an allen bolt at some point. I can see the handle getting loose over time. Mine hasn't yet because I have hardly used it. Even the military stuff loosens up over time. But not what I want my $2000 plus rifle doing.

I was just going to start a thread about this.

I recently did a hardware store fix using a Phillips head machine screw and some loctite. I haven't been back to the range yet to see how it holds up, but I was thinking of calling BM too.

The Torx screw is the newest one, The Allen is the original and will loosen up. I have shot 2400 rounds since the torx screw was installed and it has not loosen up yet.
