Has anyone heard of any concept Rail systems in the works?

I would think that companies like Troy, Knights Armarment, Samson, etc. would see a good niche into the ACR movement by capitalizing on the lack of ACR components. Even if a company like Rhino (they manufactorer exceptional quality shotgun rail systems that are super light) got involved in putting something together, that would be something.





After throwing up this rant I decided to just call Harris Tactical (Rhino's parent company) and see just how far fetched something like this would be. Turns out Robert (owner) was quite familiar with both the Bushmaster/Remington platforms and mentioned that there may be a possiblity of product developement in the future. We talked about the forum and that there were quite a few individuals that would be interested in something like an aftermarket rail system. Also mentioned that I probably wouldn't be the only one eager to help with a little R&D in the concept process . It's good to see more and more companies taking interest in the new weapon systems on the range.

Rail/foregrips should be pretty easy to do. I am both surprised and disappointed that Magpul isn't offering anything on their own site that's not on the Bushmaster. May have been a part of the terms of sale that they didn't undercut Bushmaster's accessories sales? But yeah, if anyone else was to do some rifle length 4 or 5-sided rail systems (skeletonized and complete), they could get some business. I expect many are waiting until there's a large enough sales base to recoup their investment and distribution costs.

I think a carbon fiber rail system would be cool and very light weight! Should be fairly easy to mold too.

what if you took an enhanced rail and milled off the piccatinny rails on it and made it look like this one?

Dang i was thinking a TRX extreme type of rail would be amazing. i'm thinking a good machinist could probably whip something up pretty easily if they wanted to.

I'm definitely interested in that new BMI rail, though I wish they's make it a tad bit longer. Looks pretty light though.

that was my thinking too. Maybe once more ACRs are out there they will reconsider.
