Picked up my new ACR today. Noticed that the upper has a little bit of wobble or play with the lower. Is this normal?

Mine was fairly tight when I 1st got it, but after numerous range visits, it had loosened some what. I think it would be normal unless it's really excessive.

Thanks for the reply. It's not excessive. I can see where the wobble happens, and that's at the forward receiver pivot pin. As long as it doesn't begin to affect accuracy, I'll live with it. I just hope it doesn't get worse and require a wedge.

Mine is pretty damned tight. I've never noticed any problem.

Mine is as well. The ar platform has these expanding type pivot and takedown pins to alleviate that. Don't know if they would work on the acr. My pos I had to qualify with in basic was so excessive I was worried about a low score. It probably wouldn't of mattered but I put some cardboard between the recievers. Doing that to an acr isnt so appealing.

I'd hate to have to use a wedge with a brand new rifle. How much play or wobble do you have?

I didn't have any play really. Deffinatly less than my ar but not enough to where id use a wedge. I had checked before I sent it to bushmaster.the rifles seem to have little quirks but im not sure yeyre tings that cam be fixed rather than maybe just replace a part. Plus I don't want to wait forever for it to come back. Its only been gone less that two weeks. I don't remember if an ar wedge will fit in there or not.

I guess I'm a bit paranoid as I've read posts where people say their ACR receiver fitment is tight, but mine is not. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse after a few hundred rounds.

I mean it very well could loosen up over time. Things wear. That goes with everything. The rifle will still last very long. People here have round counts in the thousands and theirs still function very well. Enjoy it. I see your point though. I didn't even get to shoot mine and wasn't very happy about the recall. But its a brand new platform and its well engineered. You've got something not alot of people have.
