Hey all.
Been patiently reading and watching the ACR and found a deal I couldn’t walk away from. I'm of the opinion this platform has the most potential of anything currently available. Looking forward to playing...

Thought I'd document my process of laying out my ACR. Comments always welcome!

My goal has been to layout everything just like my sr15.
Here is what I'm adding:
T1 w/ Kac mount
Tango Down VFR QD short
KAC Panels stippled
MagP RSA
SKT 2-1 sling
SF 620V w/ dual pressure pad

Here are problems I've run into:
SF 620V mounted on right side and dual pressure pad mounted on top just behind front site
PROBLEM #1 - MagP front site is 2.5"long and pushes the pressure switch back so my activating thumb rests against the charging handle
POSSIBLE SOLUTION - change front sight to KAC micro at 2" and gain .5", we'll see if its enough
PROBLEM #2 - not way to secure pressure pad cord
POSSIBLE SOLUTION - make a new rail system with a pic rail at 11' and 2' :)

MagP RSA - Got to have a place to mount sling in the front - push button is not an option (they move...)
PROBLEM - Mounted at the front of the rail pointing UP - Not enough room existed between RSA and upper rail to easily/quickly attach and unattach the sling to transition to 1 point
PROBLEM - Mounted at the front of the rail pointing DOWN - My hand runs into the RSA/sling
POSSIBLE SOLUTION - make a new rail system that is longer :) Need to find another hard mount option.

Yes I could simply switch out components, and probably will have to, but I see that as compromising and again I really want to get it laid out just like my sr15. Want to exhaust all options before switching.

I'll update with some pics soon.

Also planning another project to loose some weight and improve feel by reprofiling or dimpling and cutting the barrel to 14.5. (Future Post)

Yeah I've seen your rifle. Very nice. Wish WA was and sbr state...Could I bother you to measure the length, front to back, of your micro front? KAC micros look to be just a tad over 2". How did you secure your pressure pad wire? Tough to tell from the pics. Was shortening your gas system as simple as cutting down the op rod?-T

thanks man, its nice to have legal sbr's, that sucks about washington, didnt they just approve suppressors recently? my micros are exactly 2.019". my pressure pad is directly behind that and i secured the wire with these, i cut one in half and grabbed the top and side of the wire

and yes the op rod was a basic cut about 2" shorter than normal, it might be melonite coated but i'm not sure, it seems like everything else is lol

Possible solution to the Magpul front sight issue.
Turn it around so when it folds up it folds back towards the shooter.

Possible solution to the RSA/rail issue.
If you get a magpul illumination kit you could get the canitlever rail and use it up front(pointed up) for the RSA. It's a little higher and I use it on mine. It works pretty well.

I did strip off the MBUS for both positions. Will show pics later because I have a rather unique set up that I don't want to show yet. Good luck

Been playing alittle.
Here are some different light and sling options

MgP RSA sling attachment/ Surefire X300 / Gear Sector pic mount -- like the x300 but its can be tricky to activate under stress

RSA / Vltor offset light mount / Surefire G2X Pro polymer light--- Voltor mount allows you to remove the light (like!), G2X has 2 modes, switches back in forth with each push (annoying!)

RSA / Vltor offset mount / Olight M20s light--- love this light (340lms/6hrs, 110lms/12hrs, 9lms/600hrs, 340lm strobe, side switch and very durable) BUT the light sits to close to the charging handle

SO FAR... this is the best set up for me. Not a huge fan of the light (switching ilum levels with each push), maybe a non dual illum would be better. I like KAC panels but I've found panels just add to much bulk to this forend.
