Is the ACR bolt carrier or any part of it coated? I was wondering if it would be worth it to get the bcg coated by fail zero.

its a melonite coating. its suppose to be equal to the glock finnish of their pistols. theres no real need to put another finish over it

not over melonite, that crap is insanely hard, iirc it also is very smooth so it is less prone to wear

The only thing I would consider coating would maybe be the piston. It'd look pretty cool but given my usual cleaning method is the wire wheel on the bench grinder it might not hold up so well.

melonite took out 4 titanium carbide drill bits before i could even scratch it... i had to buy a cobalt drill bit to break through
