Damn, that's short. That almost looks too short for me, but to each his own. Let us know how the accuracy is with that short of a barrel.

I enjoyed the report. I know you said the fliers were shooter error, so how was it compared to earlier shooting before you had it cut? I mean this is 50yds. How much did your group really open up? I haven't any experience with a barrel that short, but it seems to be taking a toll on your accuracy.

I'll get some barrel pics up tonight. I can't say for sure what the chop did for accuracy as it wasn't benched and shooting cheap ammo for plinking. When I get some time I'll bench it with good ammo and see. I can say this is perfectly acceptable to me for a 10.5" gun. Did not change gas port size, it's a standard profile barrel 3/4 at the gas block

Hmm. Okay well if it wasn't benched, I'll have to hold my tongue on the accuracy. The gas port surprises me. There Have been others here that made no change on a 12.5 that were having several problems, but, as you said, anther 1,000 will tell the tale.

he is running the ar15 16" gas port which is around .063, the others that are having problems are running an ar15 12.5" gas port which is around .08 or so, you have to tell the place thats cutting down the barrel that you dont want the gas port opened up very much (if at all) since most of them assume its for an ar15

Oh. I misunderstood the earlier thread, then.
