form 1 came in today =), barrel is a 1/7 noveske lightweight with the double chrome lining, the rifle is still heavy at 8 pounds unloaded with all the accessories on it. it shoots like a dream, and is much nicer than my old hk 416 10.5" rifle was with a can. i drilled and tapped a screw in the gas block to adjust as needed. i've fired over 100 rounds with zero malfunctions whatsoever, on "U" it fires great on semi, and on "S" it doesn't cycle until i screw on my M4-2000... this rifle is much quieter than my 416 was also

Rifle specs are
Enhanced Acr
Aimpoint Micro T-1 with Larue Tactical HK mount
Troy Micro's
Surefire X300 with XT07 remote switch
Surefire ladder rail covers
Noveske 10.5" 1/7
AAC 51t muzzle brake
AAC M4-2000
Rock River Arms stage 2 nm trigger

The enhanced handguard looks like it fits the shorten gas system perfectly. Very nice looking setup and sounds like it's running fine.

I am assuming that you used your original gas block, etc to finish the build.

thanks guys, i used all the original parts from my 16" barrel, i only had to modify the op rod and gas block, the barrel was modified with a m4 cut to fit the op rod support and 2 slits were added for the taper pins

my barrel during the fitting process, i no longer use the quick disconnect because
a. its unnecessary weight and i dont remove the barrel because of minor zero issues (grab and go gun)
b. i dont have another barrel to add anyway
c. the op rod support doesnt allow it lol so i just throw it in the rifle case and leave the allen screw in the rifle

i could do this again but the problem would be that bm is going to release their 10.5's in the near future, if you would want one done i could talk to my machinist, its really not that hard of a conversion to do i wouldn't charge that much to do the work

if i were to do the work i'd need a carbine length barrel and complete acr barrel set

the cool part is i could do a 300blk barrel set since i can tune the gas port to whatever i want, when i tested mine i switched it to a bolt action to make sure the screw was sealed and tapped properly

I am assuming you removed the barrel locking lever once you have the barrel tighten down, yes?

More I look and read, sounds like you put alot of thought into this to make it a real workable solution. excellent work!!

I wonder if you could make some sort of spanner wrench and mill some cuts into the barrel lock ring to wrench it down.

yes i lock it down and remove the wrench, i also marked the locking piece before i did the swap so i had a reference point for after the conversion, i was chatting with another member on ar15.com (hk94dude) about the project and he said he was doing the same thing so we sent a few emails back and forth giving updates on the whole setup, mine was delayed by my form 1 returning for corrections

the rifle gets around 2-3 moa average with pmc 55gr and a 4moa aimpoint from the bench, the first 2 are almost the same hole the 3rd gets tossed most of the time, i keep the wrench and 2 extra screws in the handle compartment, i just wonder if bm will sell me the new firing pin since i hacked their beloved toy up lol
and again thanks everyone for the kind words! i'm working on a concealed backpack for the range, my maxpedition falcon 2 is just a little bit too small for it, going to try the maxpedition monsoon now-that and a mini4 suppressor =)

I've got a bag from SOTech that holds an XCR PDW with folded stock.
i was looking at those, i like the go bag extended but i'm trying to get a bag that is completely discreet and not military looking, the maxpedition has the molle straps but not as plentiful, most likely i will end up getting one from SOTech too, and just swap around between the g36k, mk18 and acr, currently i use the blackhawk discreet case, its not bad but if you know what to look for it sticks out a little bit

btw is the only difference in their paladin line that it is made overseas? or is there actual differences?

That is a sweet setup brother!
thanks man, took alot of mixing and matching parts to get it that way, the conversion was actually the easy part (the form 1 was a pita though)

Can't wait for the additional barrel lengths to become available for the rest of us. :)
actually i will probably buy a bm factory 10.5 barrel set and keep it with the rifle as a spare, i would really like a 300blk setup but i dont have a can for it so its no big deal... but i would LOVE a .22 setup, so i can get my muscle memory down and not cost me a fortune to do it-that and shoot the neighbors cat for clawing up my bmw...

Before I had to pay for my own ammo I would've argued against using a .22 setup. Now that I do I see the advantages, and my wallet thanks me. Great setup by the way!

Once BM offers the 14.5" and 10.5" barrels, I'll jump on board and get an ACR. The lack of barrel options is the only thing holding me back at this point.

I don't want to get burned again like I did with the SCAR.

that was the reason i didnt get a scar, and the broken stock latch, which with my luck i'd get...

i literally held both (and my 416) the day i bought my acr, the scar just didnt seem right, although it was lighter
