New ACR owner - New Zealand

Hi all. Been a long time follower of the forum and I can now say Iím a proud owner of an ACR. Took 2 and a half years (paper war, finding one and paying for it), but itís here!

Iím an avid shooter and really looking forward to getting some trigger time on this puppy.

Congrats, it looks great! You're the most dedicated and patient ACR owner on the site, no doubt!

Nice work! Welcome to the club! How are your gun laws down there?

Thank you. Happy to finally be here!

Not too bad... As long as you have the correct licences. Something different for us is we donít need tax stamps for suppressors or short barrels. But rifles/shotguns need to be over 30Ē when fully extended or itís considered a pistol! If itís a pistol it then needs to be on the approved pistol list, otherwise bye, bye firearm.

As long as I play the game I get to have nice things...

Wow, sounds like some kind of middle ground between restrictive states like mine and free states like many others here.

Interesting. Does a suppressor count toward the OAL?

No, it doesnít. Thereís a bit of contention whether the muzzle device does as well! All depends on whoís doing the checking and their interpretation of the law. Suppressors are becoming more and more the norm here for hunting. Iím planning to add one to this once the funds are available.
