been wearing new balance minimus for a couple years now, the mt10's have been my favorite and the slip on versions the best of those.

Funny to see this thread revived.

I recently discovered Vibram five fingers, and Im still in transition. It's tough because they make my calves/ankles sore for a day or two, and I'm trying to start some martial arts training, including kickboxing, and I don't feel like being loaded on advil. The fighting kinda trumps the shoes, so I may stick to normal shoes for a while. I do enjoy the Vibrams... I'm torn...

Old news. And it honestly says nothing negative about the shoes. It's just that you can't go promising people "better balance" and "less chance of injury", since some 500 pound person is going to destroy their feet and fall over in the first five minutes of wearing them.

That said, they do require a long transitional period. If you run too hard in them before your feet are used to them, you can indeed fuck up your feet.

5+ years later, anyone still running in their minimalist "shoes"?

I'm guessing the answer in NO.

Im currently using Merrells vapor glove - the problem is most of these shoes are made for mall rat hipsters - vibams sole is garbage and I always have the them peel away or some other layer so keep lots of super or shoe glue. I still use 10v1's as a back up but you can feel the difference going from +0 to +4mm heel height though. I've tried Zero's and both shoes I bought died in 4 months of every day plus hiking. 10v1's are 6-9 months and I usually find them on sale for 50.00 somewhere. I've never tried Lems but Kit Badger has been using there boots for daily use and tactical games and seems to be really liking them - the primal 2 has good revies.
