Alternatives for Marvin Pitts for ACR barrel work..

    hey guys,
just wanted to let everyone know if youre looking for ACR barrel work and dont want to wait on the turnaround time from marvin pitts i know of an alternative. his name is Lloyd at Tactical Defense Arms in south louisiana. i dropped my barrel off and he had about a 2 day turn around and it looks factory! very much pleased. he said he has a full machine shop and can do them in no time...hes an older fellow with many years on a lathe so i definitely felt safe dropping mine off there. here is their contact info if anyone is interested..

    Tactical Defense Arms
    9519 Maurice Ave.
    Maurice, LA 70555
    (337)422-6820

only cost me $100 so im a very happy camper..anyways heres some pics of mine for those interested..

Is that just a cut down factory barrel? Has the finish been redone somehow? It looks very glossy in your pictures.
So this is how liberty dies... With thunderous applause.

Sorry for the bad pictures im using the iphone camera but its just a light coat of CLP to give it the shine..yea it was just cut down to 14.5 and FS pinned. But he did a great job it looks 100% factory. He reprofiles barrels too i believe but i prefer the current thickness for now at least

How much gunsmithing work has he done? I'd just want to be sure he runs his shoulder concentric to the bore in case anyone wants to suppress down the road.

yea i told him i would be running suppressed in the near future and he said all his tolerances are guaranteed within 1/1000 or less..also getting my suppressor from his shop so if i have any baffle strikes at least he knows its his fault and not a third parties..said hes been gunsmithing for over 20 years..also an instructor for a local PD sniper school apparently
