Finally made it out to see Randal at http://ar15barrels.com/ to get my pistol barrel hanson reprofiled, shortened .2 inches and timed brake, today.

He also cut the shoulder back .3 inches so when the brake was timed it was .5 shorter overall without cutting the barrel back that far.

Before and after shows weight however the second picture includes the muzzle device which ads 2.3 ounces so I lost 3.4 ounces off the front, along with the Templar precision trunion and bolt it feels perfect now and fits in my hard case, barely.

Including parkerizing he charged 150 for all services and if you haven't seen my other thread he can remove 8oz off a 16 inch barrel with reprofile and shorten to 14.5 or any other service including gas ports or conversions.

Worth it, almost 1/2 pound with the handle etc - Templar will also credit you for your factory collar and handle so it's just 280

Is the fixed trunnion something you installed at home or did you remove your trunnion and send it in, or did you send in the whole rifle?

He will install it if you send the upper, right now he's waiting for his sot though so that service is on hold, it's easy for any gun smith though and the next one I buy I'll probably have it done local.

Thanks, just wondering if it was something I could do myself in order to avoid sending the serialized receiver

If you have a 5/32 roll pin punch and a 1/8” Allen wrench you could do the trunnion in about 10 minutes. The barrel also needs torn down too but that’s not bad as long as your flash hider comes off. Im making 100 more trunnions within the next couple weeks.
