My bad lol. I have a bad habit of doing that. Congrats on the new pistol! I honestly love mine. It’s been taken to the range a bunch lately.

Ok just got tail hook and #Dan Hagen tailhook adapter... How do I install the Magpul guts in the new brace adapter and where did you pin yours to make every thing legal?

You have to use the stock extension to line up the spring inside of the clamps. Then line the holes up and drop the pin into the holes. It’s a pain to do.

As far as the shim to prevent the stock from going back to far, i machined a piece of billet aluminum (overkill). I cut it to fit inside of the slot on the bottom of the rail, I then drilled 2 holes and ran 2 .093 dowell pins through the aluminum and into the stock itself.

Why did you pin it? If it was a pistol to begin with isn't it always a pistol, no matter how long it is? Is it a state length requirement where you are? I am in Texas.

You have to pin the stock internally so it won’t go past the legal 13.5”. Mine was pinned at about 13 to be safe.

As far as how it feels, i will be doing a review soon but honestly it shot great. I was almost as fast as I was with my Sbr.

That probably doesn’t help your decision at all lol

length of pull for a pistol brace has to be less than 13.5 inches according to the ATF.

^^ he’s correct. If the LOP is too long it is considered a stock. I stopped mine at over an inch shorter than the requirement to make sure I’m safe

FWIW: Dan Haga's web site (https://www.danhagadesigns.com) was shut down by Wix. He's currently updating his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DanHagaDesigns/.

In general, I love the Dan Haga adapter + brace setup. Are there any alternatives to the tailhook brace? That thing isn't light. I wish there was a minimalistic all rubber alternative to slap on the end of the Dan Haga.

    Edit---
Hrm. The tailhook seems to be one of the lighter ones. Anyone else feel the brace stock is heavier than the regular acr stock setup?

Is there a source for the picatinny rear end cap adapter shown at 2:47?
