Everywhere I've read the Brakeout is superb in recoil reduction but is much louder and displays a distinct flash signature through the ports.
So would the can get rid of all the flash it overtime? Would the exiting force from the sides cause more wear and tear on the can?

    I picked the Blackout

I have never been a big fan of muzzle brakes on a .223 / 5.56 because they are obnoxiously loud. Besides the 223 has minimal recoil to begin with. Now on the bigger stuff, (50bmg, 300 win mag, etc... ) thats where muzzle breaks shine.

    Hey Tommy,

No the factory Blackout won't accept anything. The Flash Hiders that do will have the additional threading around it.

the blackout is what i run on my 16" barrel acr, its very effective on flash reduction but the little recoil is still there, i've never shot the brake out so i cant comment on that, but with the brake it actually increases the life of the suppressor on sbr rifles (and probably 16+ also too)

what happens is the blast usually takes out the first baffle on the suppressor eroding it every shot (sbr), the blast chambers on the brake act as a sacrificial baffle and take most of the beating on it increasing the life. my m4-2k at 600 rounds with a 10.4" hk416 upper/aac blackout flash hider started eroding pretty decently, after that i swapped to the brake on my 10" rifles and you can see the erosion on the brake instead of the baffle

also, theres 3 versions of the blackout flash hider, the standard flash hider (non mounts), the 18t mount for the m4-1000, and 51t mount for the m4-2000

Ahhhhhhhh, makes sense replacing a $75 (give or take) muzzle break instead of a $600+ suppressor. Never looked at it that way.

I'm slipping that one into my pocket, (knowledge gained) Thanks!!
