Factory FN SCAR SBR barrels for sale finally...

    123
Good news for all those waiting for SBR SCAR barrels

FN has finally gotten a clue and will be selling SBR barrels this year.

Nice! The downside? You have to be willing to be bent over and raped on pricing.

I sold my SCAR due the lack of SBR barrels. If I can find one used and can get decent pricing on a barrel as a dealer, I might have to revisit...Though the idea of paying for a barrel that costs more than the most bad ass of AR15 uppers sorta makes me want to vomit.

FNH USA - Distinct Advantage :: PR 130901

FN SCAR® Barrel Assemblies are available in 10 and 14-inch lengths for the SCAR® 16S and 13-inch length for the SCAR® 17S that offer consumers greater versatility. Each complete assembly includes the cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined MIL-SPEC steel barrels with front sight assembly, gas regulator, gas piston and compensator installed and can be easily assembled using only a Torx® T-25 torque wrench. The MSRP for 2013 starts at $1,299.

Wow, I've been looking for weapons with cheaper barrel assemblies, not more expensive. $1299 is not expensive it's offensive! They must hold themselves in pretty high regard, to ask that much for a barrel assembly.

The SCAR lovers will defend it as being "combat tested". I compare it to the M16 in it's infancy. It has potential, but it's far from the uber rifle they claim it to be just because SOCOM uses it.

Just like SOCOM still uses KAC drop in rails. There's better stuff out there for cheaper.

If they want to take that argument that its combat tested, a FULL MR556 upper is 1899. Thats 600 more for a completely assembled upper with bolt carrier (the BC is over 600 alone), rail, buffer and spring.

Hell HK even ships a Mag with it iirc...

I thought they stopped using the 16, the SEAL teams my friend worked with only had 10.5" SCAR 17's as far as SCARs go, which they where very fond of in comparison.
